The Ministry of Caring is a community-based nonprofit organization that provides a network of social, health and support services for the poor, including the homeless and working poor, in greater Wilmington. Services comprise case management, emergency shelters, transitional and long-term residences, a residence for people with AIDS, dining rooms for the hungry, a job placement center, child care centers, an outreach center, medical and dental programs and a distribution center.
Neighborhood House is an organization that operates on a foundation of principles pursuing two primary purposes: assist and guide people with finding their own paths of awareness, self-sufficiency, productivity, hopefulness and success; and provide leadership, support, and advocacy for a comprehensive approach to community, economic, and leadership development.
The Delaware Farm Bureau established the Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation in 2013 to build awareness, understanding and positive public perception about Delaware’s farm operations and fresh local food. The foundation also raises funds to provide educational materials, grants, scholarships and feed hungry Delawareans.
