Each March, Delaware Farm Bureau staff, members and leaders travel to Washington, D.C. to speak with our Congressional Delegation about ongoing issues impacting the ag industry in the State of Delaware. This year, the group had the pleasure of also visiting the American Farm Bureau Federation offices and speaking with AFBF President Bob Stallman. The group, traveled to D.C. and was first briefed by President Stallman, he was then followed by Danielle Quist (Senior Counsel for Public Policy), Cody Lyon (Director, Grassroots/Political Advocacy) and Dale Moore (Director, Public Policy).
After a short visit to Union Station for lunch, the group traveled to the Capitol Visitor’s Center to meet with Delaware’s Congressional Delegation. U.S. Senator Thomas Carper, U.S. Senator Chris Coons, along with Congressman John Carney have been huge supporters of the Delaware Farm Bureau and the ag industry. They spoke to members on issues including the passing of a new Farm Bill, the looming sequester and various health care issues.
