Delaware Farm Bureau President Bill Powers joined fellow state Farm Bureau presidents, American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) national committee chairs, and AFBF President Zippy Duvall at the White House on July 9, 2025, to hear from several Cabinet members, administration officials, and senior White House staff.

It was a morning filled with good discussions about Farm Bureau’s priority issues. State Farm Bureau Presidents engaged directly with speakers after their presentations, and administration leaders expressed their appreciation for the Farm Bureau’s continued advocacy and efforts to share agriculture’s story in Washington.

“I am thankful to Cabinet members, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zelden, and other department’s staff that attended the meeting,” said Powers. “It shows that they care about agriculture and want to work with farmers to alleviate some of the struggles we face.”

President Powers had the opportunity to have a conversation on agriculture trade with Mr. Jamieson Greer, U.S. Trade Representation, who spoke to the Council of Farm Bureau Presidents during a break of the four-hour meeting.

The Farm Bureau Council of Presidents voiced concerns on a range of pressing topics, including the farm economy, preserving family farms, USDA disaster assistance programs, the Big Beautiful Bill, trade, and Make America Healthy Again (MAHA). They also addressed the need for regulatory reform, particularly regarding the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule and the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
