The Antique Tractor Pull is a time-honored tradition of the Delaware Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R). For over 30 years, antique tractor enthusiasts have met at the Delaware State Fair to showcase their work, compete, and connect with fellow community members.
The 2026 Antique Tractor Pull will be held on Saturday, August 1, in the Quillen Arena at the Delaware State Fair. The pull is free to watch; however, fair admission is required to enter the fairgrounds.
A true family-friendly event, whether you’re 8 or 80, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Behind every tractor is a story of time, skill, and dedication, as competitors work year-round to maintain and restore these pieces of agricultural history. During the pull, drivers test their tractors by pulling a weighted sled down the track, with the farthest distance determining the winner in each class. But the event is about more than just how far a tractor can pull. It’s about bringing people together around a shared passion for antique tractors.
“The Antique Tractor Pull is something the whole family can enjoy,” said YF&R State Chair Connor Vincent. “We love seeing kids experience it for the first time while also bringing back memories for those who grew up watching or competing.”
For pullers, day-of registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by a drivers’ meeting at 8:30 a.m., with the first hook at 9:00 a.m. Winners of the YF&R Scholarship will also be announced during the event. Pre-registration is encouraged and available at www.defb.org/yfr/antique-tractor-pull/.
The entry fee is $20 per hook for all classes. Event T-shirts will be available on-site for $25 each, or $20 for youth sizes.
