I attend Susquehanna University and major in Luxury Brand Marketing and Management.
Marketing is connecting the consumer to the story of a brand or product. There is a lot of science combined with creativity that makes marketing very unique. Each product or brand uses a different strategy and makes any marketing job interesting.
The Delaware Farm Bureau is looking to connect farmers and tell their story. In this internship, I will work through social media platforms to connect farmers and their lifestyle to communities.
My family became members of the Delaware Farm Bureau after my neighbor, Connie Fox, explained that we didn’t have to own a large farm. We have chickens and a massive garden. I have worked in the Farm Bureau Food Booth since I was eight and scrubbing tables. I also received a scholarship in 2018 and would love to give back to the organization.
My background in agriculture started when I was really young when my dad wanted a garden and I saw the opportunity for a produce stand. I would sell my local fruits and vegetables to restaurants and grocery stores in Lewes and Milford. I joined 4-H and ventured in project areas such as Public Speaking, Archery, Horticulture and Photography. This connected me with a lot of farming families and allowed me to appreciate their dedication.
My favorite award was with 4-H receiving the Diamond Clover. Similar to an Eagle Scout project, I worked to leave a lasting legacy for my community. I created Project Hopscotch where I built two hopscotch courses at the Milford Boys and Girls Club and Morris Early Childhood Center. In school, I have been selected to attend several leadership conferences this past year including the national Lead365. I will be speaking at this conference next year in Orlando and holding workshops. Most of my leadership focuses on Public Relations within Student Organizations.
More from the Delaware Farm Bureau: Hannah was a member of the Houston Cardinals 4-H Club for more than 10 years and eventually became the secretary for the statewide 4-H Teen Council. She also held the roles of president for the 4-H Kent County Jr. Council and vice president of the Delaware State Fair Junior Board. Hannah graduated from Sussex Tech High School as the senior class president.
Welcome to the team, Hannah!
