The Delaware Farm Bureau (DEFB) is proud to announce its nomination for the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) Small Business of the Year award, a prestigious recognition honoring exceptional community impact, innovation, and business excellence.

The nomination was celebrated during the CDCC’s annual Excellence in Business Awards Dinner, held on June 18, 2025, at Bally’s Dover Casino Resort. The event brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community advocates to recognize outstanding achievements among Central Delaware’s small business community.

DEFB’s nomination reflects its continued commitment to serving Delaware’s agricultural industry while promoting education, advocacy, and community engagement. As a non-profit grassroots organization, the Delaware Farm Bureau supports more than 1,800 farm families and individuals across the First State, playing a vital role in shaping policies and practices that strengthen Delaware’s rural economy.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized by the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce alongside so many incredible businesses,” said Bill Powers, President of the Delaware Farm Bureau. “This nomination affirms our mission to represent and support Delaware’s farmers and agricultural interests with integrity and dedication.”

The Excellence in Business Awards Dinner, one of CDCC’s hallmark events, included a formal dinner, opportunities to network with industry leaders, and recognition of awardees in multiple categories. The evening celebrated organizations and individuals that exemplify leadership, excellence, and commitment to Central Delaware’s economic vitality.

As a nominee, DEFB joins a distinguished group of community-driven organizations making significant contributions across Kent County and beyond. The recognition not only highlights the Farm Bureau’s internal growth and innovation but also its collaborative efforts in educational outreach, leadership development, and legislative advocacy on behalf of its members.
