Delaware Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Education Committee is full of ideas on how to share accurate information on agriculture with school children.

At the annual state meeting — and banquet, too, if there are any left — sponsorships will be available for members and guests to provide a book or a set of six books in the “Casey and Friends” series to be added to Book Barns placed in Delaware elementary school libraries by the P&E Committee.

Each book in the series focuses on how farm equipment helps farmers do their work. The books, such as “Casey’s Bright Red Christmas,” are written by Holly Dufek for children ages 4 to 8 and are illustrated with an awesome mix of delightful drawings and real-life photography.

For $10 per book (or $60 per set of six), you can choose a book and sign your name with or without a short message about yourself or your farm, or some words of encouragement, in the front cover. The books will then be donated to schools as part of the ongoing book barn program.

A description of the books can be found at https://octanepress.com/product-category/children. The coloring book will not be included.

John Deere devotees should not feel left out, since “John Deere, That’s Who” is already part of the set of 20 or more books donated with each Book Barn. Outright donations will cheerfully be accepted from those of you who prefer the color green, orange or any other hue!
