Lace Up for Ag Literacy and help the Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation share ag accurate books with students in the First State.
Enjoy the flat, scenic, rural landscape of the St. Jones Isaac Branch Trail while raising needed funds to help the Foundation continue its programming for Delaware’s youth.
The inaugural Lace Up for Ag Literacy 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 23 at Buffalo Wild Wings in Dover. This is a rain or shine event. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.; the race will begin at 9 a.m. A healthy kids run, free for runners 10 years of age and younger, will take place at 8:50 a.m.
Registration for the Lace Up for Ag Literacy is $25 per person through Oct. 16 and $30 per person on the day of the event. Runners and walkers will compete for unique awards for overall male, female, and master’s winners. Awards will be given to the top three male/female runners in 10-year age groups starting with 10 and under through 70 and over. 5K walk awards will be given to the top five male/female finishers. All Kiddie K finishers will earn ribbons.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation whose mission is to build awareness, understanding, and positive public perception about Delaware’s farm operations and fresh, local food.
