From classroom gardens to hands-on science lessons, agricultural education takes many forms, and the Delaware Farm Bureau (DEFB) Women’s Committee is helping these initiatives grow.
Through the DEFB Women’s Committee Mini-Grant Program, agriculture educators can apply for funding to support materials, equipment, and supplies that strengthen agricultural education and enhance classroom learning.
One educator from each county in Delaware will be selected to receive a $250 mini-grant. Funds may be used to purchase resources that support hands-on agricultural projects, increase student engagement through experiential learning, and promote leadership development and career readiness.
“We know that some of the most meaningful learning happens when students can experience agriculture firsthand,” said Mollie Lynch, DEFB Women’s Committee Chair. “This program helps teachers bring those opportunities into their classrooms and inspires the next generation of leaders in agriculture.”
Applications are available online at www.defb.org/mini-grants/ and must be submitted by August 1, 2026. Grant recipients will be notified by September 1, 2026. All projects must be completed within one school year, and final reports are due by June 30, 2027.
