PFAS (per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances) can be a complicated topic to understand for farmers and consumers alike. In the attached presentation, Courtney Briggs, senior director of government affairs for the American Farm Bureau Federation, offered an inside look at PFAS and how governmental regulations have recently changed.
WOTUS is a States rights issue for the most part. There is a difference between intra-state and inter-state navigable waterways. The 1972 Clean water Act only regulates interstate navigable waterways and adjacent underwater lands to be regulated to prevent “fill” of the interstate navigation channel.
1. States regulate intra-state navigable waterways.
2. There are specific exemptions for agriculture and silviculture. The power point misses both points.
